What we believe, our objectives, statement of faith and core values.
The sole basis of GGM congregation’s confession of faith is reflected in the following statements;
1. The Bible. We believe that the Bible is God’s word, that it was written by men divinely inspired and that it is the supreme, infallible authority in all matters of faith and practice (2nd Timothy 3:15-17).
2. God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (John 1:14; 4:24; 5:23; John 10:30,; 1st John 5:7).
3. Jesus Christ. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, His miracles, in His Vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension and in His personal return in power and glory ( Matthew 1:21-22 ).
4. Salvation. We believe that salvation can only be found in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God who was born of the Virgin and lived a sinless life. We believe that he died for the sins of mankind, and anyone who calls on Him shall be saved from sin and its consequences. (Acts 4:12; 1st Timothy 2:5-6; Romans 10:10-13; Ephesians 2:5, 8; John 3:16).
5. Ordinances. We believe in the believers’ baptism by immersion in water according to the Scriptures and in the observance of the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of the death of our Lord Jesus Christ (Mathew 28:19-20; 1st Corinthians 11:23-26; Romans 6:3-5; Luke 22:14-19).
6. Baptism in the Holy Spirit. We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and in the operation of the spiritual gifts and ministries in the body of Christ (Acts 2:1-5; 10:44-48; 1st Corinthians 12:1-31; Ephesians 4: 11-16).
7. The Second Coming. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again in his full Glory. We believe that the dead in Christ shall Rise and those who are alive in Christ will meet him in the air (Matthew 24:30; Acts 1: 11; 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18).
8. Resurrection. We believe that there shall be resurrection of the dead and after that, the Judgment and the righteous will inherit eternal life and sinners sent to eternal death (John 5:29; Luke.24:1-12).
9. Healing of the sick and diseased: We believe that prayer, laying on of hands, the spoken command, the anointing on of olive oil, by faith in Jesus Christ, is a righteous approach of the scriptures by which the sick, and those oppressed of demons and any bodily diseases will be set free. We also believe in the conventional use of medicine and medical doctors to remove sickness and to correct physical pain or difficulties.
a) LOVE. We choose to make the Love of God the bedrock on which everything we do is founded (1st Corinthians 13:1-13, John 13:35).
b) HOPE. Our hope is in the Lord God and His unfailing word at all times ( Jeremiah 17:7, Titus 2:13)
c) FAITH. We believe that having faith in God is the key requirement for our salvation and enables us to keep moving even when things seem tough (Hebrews 11:1-6)
d) HOLINESS. We commit to living holy lives in the fear of God (1 Peter 1:15)
e) INTEGRITY. We shall endeavor to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of our Lord and for a testimony to our observers (Colossians 1:10, 1 Thessalonians 2:12)
f) STEWARDSHIP. Every servant in the ministry is expected to be accountable, faithful and selfless as entrusted by God (1st Corinthians 4:1-2)
g) EXCELLENCE. We must do whatever we do with all our might and to the best of the abilities God has given us (Ecclesiastes 9:10, 1st Corinthians 14:12)
a) To preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ by reaching out to individuals and communities both locally and internationally for the salvation of souls as set forth in Mark 16:15.
b) To teach biblical principles and sound doctrine of the word of God in order to establish and equip believers for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12).
c) To establish and oversee churches for the expansion of the Kingdom of God.
d) To train, ordain and commission church ministers for service in the Kingdom of God.
e) To conduct Christian services and perform all the rites of the local Church such as Marriages, Burials, Baptisms and Holy Communion in fulfillment of all righteousness.
